Mid Century Restoration

Originally built in 1970 by Japanese mid-century architect Kaneji Domoto, this house nestled in the woods and cantilevered over a stream, needed a complete restoration and renovation. We preserved the architect's design ethos while recreating period-specific details and maximizing its unique location.

We created a minimal but expressive space, honoring the family, and their love of nature. Renovations to create an open concept kitchen and family room, plus additional guest rooms, created expansive light and warmth.
